As mentioned in the “New Reckoning” video post, King Vada – formerly LxE For The Uncool aka one of my favorite artists – finally delivers an official project in the form of Preludes To A Murder EP. Although he released a bunch of songs toward the end of 2012, this marks his first official project since his Monsters Are Due On Maple Street release which came shortly after the release of his classic, The Measure in August of 2010.
The new EP, produced entirely by Connecticut production team, Northern Lights, delivers a slightly more atmospheric sound than Vada’s past projects. In a way, the production is an evolution of similar sounds found on The Measure and MADOMS. As always, Vada’s artistic integrity and lyricism remain a focal point, while introducing some melodic aspects to a few songs on the project.
Finally, the title of the project suggests that 2013 is going to be a huge year for Vada. He has a long-awaited full-length project on deck that is likely to be his finest work to date. Until then, take in his latest offering below.
